Join me for the 2025 New England Wood-fire Conference!

I am excited to be taking part in the second New England Wood fire Conference and “wood” love for you to join me for a firing. We will be glazing, wadding and loading on June 18th and 19th and Firing until the afternoon of the 21st. Unloading will occur on Thursday June 26th. There are thirteen additional kiln sites and we will be hosting a conference around New Haven June 27th and 28th. Please follow the link below for more information and registration.

Firing Plan: The goal of this firing will be to develop lots of ash in the jade/green color range with as much flame marking as possible. I am hoping to preserve a relatively bright color pallet and will be heavily considering the results of our slips, shinos, crackle and copper glazes. The final 6-8 hours will consist of only soft wood and will maintain a lighter reduction cycle. The finish will have a minimal amount of wood stoked into the firebox and will begin an immediate reduction cooling for 2-4 hours.

Guest artists to be announced soon!
